Tomatoes are low in fat and high in fibre. It is also a source for many vitamins and minerals, so we have to add tomatoes in our regular diet. Tomatoes is also healthy and a great source of lycopene. I will post some recipes on tomatoes and the first one is a Spicy Tomato Curry.
Tomato curry is one of the quick and tasty recipes that can be prepared in two ways- one can be prepare with milk and soaked rice paste (tangy) and another with ginger garlic paste and garam masala powder (spicy). Both can be prepare with same procedure but with different ingredients which gives different taste.
Lets see first how to make Spicy Tomato curry.
Ingredients:
- Chopped onions – 2
- Sliced green chillies – 5
- Ripen tomatoes – 5
- Oil – 3
- Cilantro leaves (optional) – few
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
- Garam masala powder – 1 tbsp
How to Prepare Tomato Curry:
- Heat oil in a pan and add few curry leaves to it.
- Add green chillies and onion pieces and fry them until gloden brown colour.
- Then add ginger garlic paste and fry well on simmer and then add chopped tomatoes and saute them for 5 minutes.
- Add salt and chilli powder to it and put the lid.
- Let it cook for 10 min on simmer.
- Add garam masala powder and cilantro leaves to it and mix well.
- Cook well till the water content is completely evaporated.
- Then spicy tomato curry is ready.
Spicy Tomato curry can be had with white rice, curd rice, chapattis and bread.
