Chicken Fried bit Biryani

Biryani is a Famous Dish in India. You all known about regular chicken Biryani. But this is a bit different Biryani that I tried. One of my friends ate this type of Biryani in one restaurant, and asked me to cook the same. I tried with boneless chicken. Here is the tasty Biryani recipe for you.

Ingredients:

  • Basmati Rice – 4 cups
  • Oil – 2 to3 spoons
  • Ghee – 2 spoons
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee – 1spoon
  • Turmeric for colour – ½ spoon
  • Chilly Powder – 1spoon
  • Garam masala powder – 1 spoon
  • Jeera Powder – 2 spoons

Spices used for Biryani:

  • Cashew nuts – 20
  • Garlic bulbs – 5
  • Cinnamon sticks – 3
  • Cloves – 6
  • Cardamom pods cracked – 4
  • A pinch of Ajinomoto
  • 1 Onion – sliced to long
  • Onions – ½ cup of small pieces
  • 10 Chillies – sliced long
  • Ground Pepper – 2 spoons
  • Bay leaves – 5
  • Fenugreek – 1 spoon
  • Star shaped anise  – 3
  • Stone flowers – 3
  • Shajeera – 2 spoons
  • Javetri – 4

Other Ingredients:

  • 1 big Onion – sliced
  • 6 Green chillies – sliced/slit
  • Coriander/cilantro leaves – ½ cup chopped
  • Mint leaves – ½ cup chopped
  • Ginger Garlic paste – 2 spoons
  • Poppy seeds and cashew nuts paste – 1 spoon
  • Lemon juice – 2 spoons

How to make Chicken used in making Biryani:

  • Half kilo Chicken breasts or thigh pieces (boneless) cut into small cubes, washed cleanly and dried to remove water.
  • Add sufficient amount of oil for deep fry in a frying pan.
  • Deep fry the chicken pieces in the oil and pat dry.
  • Take the excess oil in a bowl and frying pan should have one or two spoons oil in it.
  • Then add 4 garlic bulbs followed by 5 slit green chili pieces and then half a cup of small onion pieces.
  • Fry well in the oil until golden brown colour. Add 1 spoon of Ginger garlic paste and fry well.
  • Then add chopped mint leaves, followed by chopped coriander leaves and fry for 5 min.
  • Add salt, Turmeric powder, 1 spoon  Jeera powder, red chili powder and mix well.
  • Add the dry chicken pieces to the pan, close the lid and cook for 8 minutes on simmer.
  • Fried bit chicken pieces are ready to be added to the Biryani.

How to prepare Fried Bit Biryani:

  • Boil 2-3 spoons of oil in a frying pan for one minute on simmer.
  • Then add the biryani spices into frying pan and fry one by one in a following order:
    • Garlic bulbs – Shajeera – Cardamom pods – cloves – Cinnamon Stick – Fenugreek – Star shaped anise – Stone flowers- Javetri – Bay leaves
  • Fry the above spices and add any other Biryani spices based on your interest.
  • Add slit 5 Green chillies and fry well. Then add long onion pieces, Mint leaves followed by Ginger Garlic paste and fry.
  • Add Coriander leaves and Fry well.
  • Add 6 cups of water to the pan along with salt and ajinomoto to it and boil well.
  • Add one spoon ghee, poppy seeds – Cashew nut paste to the oil and one spoon Garam masala powder to it. Mix well.
  • Then add cleanly washed Basmati Rice to the water and mix well.
  • Cook for 7 min with a lid on the pan and open the lid and mix well after 7 min in a high flame.
  • Then cook well for 5 min with a lid on simmer.
  • Then add Fried bit chicken and lemon juice. Mix well.
  • Cook for 7 min on simmer.
  • Hot Hot Fried Chicken Fried Bit Biryani is ready to eat.
