Farfalle is one variety of pasta which is originated from Italian word Farfalla. In Itlaian Farfalle means butterflies. Farfalle is also called bow-tie pasta because of its structure. Farfalle pasta is famous for creamy tomato recipes. I tried to cook pasta Indian style by adding some spices. Lets see how to make the Indian version of Farfalle pasta.
Ingredients
- Farfalle Pasta – 250 gms
- Tomatoes – 2 (chopped and cooked)
- Bell peppers – chopped ( red 1 and yellow 1) – soaked for 5 min in hot water
- Green Peas – 1/2 cup (boiled)
- Salt to taste
- Olive oil – 4 tbsp
- Cream – 1/2 cup
- Hot spicy chilli sauce – 2 tbsp
- Tomato ketchup – 3 tbsp
- Ginger Garlic paste – 2 tbsp
- Green Beans – 4 (cut into pieces)
- Garam Masala powder – 1 tbsp
- Cilantro leaves – few
How to cook pasta:
- Boil water in a pan and add a spoon of salt and spoon of oil.
- Add the pasta into the boiling water.
- Let it cook for some time with out placing a lid.
- Stir Occasionally and cook till the pasta become soft. You can check by tasting one.
- Once the pasta was cooked then transfer the pasta into a porous dish to drain.
- Once the hot water is removed then transfer the pasta into cold water bowl.
- Again drain the pasta and tranfer the pasta into cold water bowl for second time.
- Lastly drain the pasta.
Veggie Farfalle Pasta In Creamy Tomato Sauce:
- Heat oil in a pan and add Ginger garlic paste to the oil and sauté till the raw smell has gone.
- Add cilantro leaves, veggies (Bell peppers, Beans and Green peas) to the pan and stir fry.
- Then sprinkle some salt and place a lid on it and let it cook for 5 inures.
- Remove the lid and sauté them for 2 minutes.
- Add tomato puree, tomato ketchup, hot chilli sauce, garam masala powder and mix well.
- Then add cooked and drained pasta to the sauces and sauté for 5 minutes.
- Pour the fresh cream and mix well.
- Place the lid on the pan and cook for some time.
- If the pasta is so dry add some water while cooking.
- Once all the sauces and cream was mixed with the pasta.
- Don’t cook till it becomes very dry.
- It tastes good with the sauce.
- Serve the pasta while it is hot.
Notes:
- You can refrigerate the pasta (for a day) and heat before you take.
Chicken Pasta in creamy tomato sauce:
- You cook a cup of diced chicken and add it in place of vegetables.
