Today I tried a Special Rice recipe with chickpeas along with thick Sev. Lets call it as chickpea fried rice 🙂 I just tried this recipe with left over Sev and Wow! it turned out a tasty recipe. Let me share it with you.
Ingredients:
- Chickpeas – 1/2 cup ( boiled and dried)
- Ripen chillies – 5 (chopped)
- Onion – 1 (diced)
- Thick Sev – 1/4 cup
- Salt to taste
- Lemon juice – 4 tbsp
- Cooked Rice – 2 cups
- Cumin powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
- Butter/Ghee – 3 tbsp
How to Prepare Chick pea-Sev Rice:
- Heat ghee in a pan, add chillies, onion pieces and fry them until they turn into golden brown colour.
- Add chickpeas and roast them for few seconds.
- Add red chilli powder, cumin powder to it and sauté it for 5 minutes on simmer.
- Transfer the cooked rice to it and stir fry for 10 minutes.
- Add thick sev to it and mix well.
- Finally sprinkle some salt and lemon juice to it and mix well.
- Serve the rice when it is hot as it is or with any vegetable side dish curry.
Notes:
- You can replace the thick sev with Gathia.
- You can avoid adding red chilli powder if you don’t the recipe tastes hot.
