ChickPea Tomato Curry

That is the best combination for chapathis/puris/baturas ??
The answer is here : chickpea tomoto/chana tomato/chole masala curry.

  • Onions – 2 big (chopped)
  • Green chillies – 4 (chopped)
  • Turmeric – ½ tbsp
  • Mustard seeds  – 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves  – 6
  • Tomoto – 2 big (chopped)
  • Garam masala powder – 1tbsp
  • Cumin seeds powder – ½ tbsp.
  • Pepper powder – ½ tbsp.
  • Salt to taste
  • Chilly powder – 1 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves for garnish
  • Chick peas  – 1 cup

How to make Chickpeas ready for cook:

  1. One cup chick peas should be clean with water and soak them over night.
  2. Then wash them again, boiled/cook in a vessel and kept aside.
  3. If you wanna chick peas in a tender way cook them under pressure for 20 min.

How to cook chickpea tomoto curry:

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add curry leaves, turmeric and add chopped onions, green chilies, fried well.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes and let it fried.
  4. Close the lid and cook in medium heat until the tomatoes are soft and gravy.
  5. Transfer the chick peas into pan and let it fry for few minutes.
  6. Add  ½ cup water to it and add salt, Chilli powder, Garam masala powder, Cumin seeds powder one by one.
  7. Cook well for 15-20 min with lid or by pressure cooker.
  8. Garnish with onion rings and corrinder leaves.
  9. Serve hot spicy,gravy chick pea tomoto curry with your chapathis, baturas….
