Mushroom Curry

Mushrooms are protein rich food and it is a delicacy if cooked in the right manner. Be careful frozen mushrooms may have a chance in getting spoiled. Better to avoid them. Freshly cooked mushroom are good and harmless.

Ingredients:

  • Mushrooms – 1 small bowl
  • Onoins – 2 big onions (grated)
  • Chillies – 4 (grated)
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 3 tbsp.
  • Garam masala powder – 1tbsp.
  • Ginger Garlic paste – 1tbsp.
  • Chilli powder – 1 tbsp.
  • Water – 1/2 cup
  • corriander for Garnish
  • Turmeric – one pinch

How to make mushrooms ready to cook:

  1. Freshly harvested mushrooms are to be thoroughly cleaned to separate the dirt and sand from it.
  2. Cut the very end of the stem because it is hard.
  3. The remaining stem is edible not to cut off.
  4. If the mushrooms are bigger in size the head is cut into four halfs.
  5. Otherwise, cut them into slices in a way cutting lady’s finger.

How to cook mushroom curry :

  1. Heat oil in a big frying pan. Add grated onion pieces and chillies. Roast them till they the onions change to golden brown colour.
  2. Add turmeric, ginger garlic paste and fry well.
  3. Cleaned button mushrooms were transfer into frying pan and fry well.
  4. Add water turmeric, salt, chilli powder to the above, put a lid and continue its cooking.
  5. Add garam masala powder and coriander to it and cook till the curry looks gravy and closer.
  6. Transfer the gravy mushroom curry into a bowl and serve when it is hot.
  7. Rice or Chapathis is the right combination with mushrooms.
